My first Tokai..many QC issues *High Resolution pics page 2*

Come on fellas. I mean I realize this is a Tokai forum and mostly comprised of fans that own Tokais, but some of those problems can't be blamed on the dealer, like the binding errors for example. I think the original poster has a legitimate concern about the QC of Tokai's low end offerings...

    Questions about "vintage" Burny's.

Nice guitar you have there. That one I believe was made in the Tokai Gakki factory, so you basically have a Tokai there.

    Uncertain about my Burny...

I don't know what every one elses verdict is but here's some problems I have with some of the things the seller has said. Burny's went at least up to RLG-120s because I've seen them. They were made at Fuji Gen Gakki well after 1980. Other than that I don't know.

    Uncertain about my Burny...

I wouldn't call my 90s RLC-75 one of their most expensive models and it has it. I've actually never seen a mij Burny that did not have it. You may be right though.

    Uncertain about my Burny...

The trussrod cover would be easy to replace. That trussrod cover is somewhat consistant with a late 80's/90's one but it's cut off at the nut to allow it to fit from what I see.

    Uncertain about my Burny...

The Burnys made in the Fuji Gen Gakki plant in Japan had fret-edge binding, which seems to be missing from your example. They were for a short time made in the Tokai Gakki plant, so that is a possibility, however I doubt that any Japanese manufacturer would make the mistakes you mentioned. My...

    Questions about "vintage" Burny's.

I finally started having trouble with feedback with my VH1s in high gain, high volume situations. I love the pickups so much I was hesitatnt to pull them, but I decided to get some Burstbucker Pros. Since then though I think I'm just going to wax pot my VH1s. I just love them too much.

Fernandes RG style with Floyd Rose

Well I brought it home with me and it's sweet! Had to clean the freboard which was dirty beyond belief, adjusted the trem and action and put on a new trem arm. Works great as a low cost shredder. The quality is great since it's a Fuji Gen Gakki product. I'm getting a new locking nut for it...

    ESP - Edwards & Navigator

Edwards is ESP's vintage style guitar line. They are production line guitars while the Navigator line is their custom hand-made special guitars.

Fernandes RG style with Floyd Rose

Wow... nobody knows eh? I'm pretty sure that it's a Fernandes AFR from reading Harmony Central Reviews. Which one I don't know.

I see that you own one of these. How do you like it? Is it made in Japan?

    E) all of the above. Ishibashi can hook you up with most I believe. Here's a link to some Edwards. http://www.espguitars.co.jp/edwards/index.html The Tokai Gakki plant is still in operation I believe and Fuji Gen Gakki is as well.

Fernandes RG style with Floyd Rose

I'm getting one of these. Seems like a lower end Ibanez RG but has a Fernandes Floyd Rose licensed tremelo on it. Does anyone know what the name of this guitar is?
