Interesting, as the economy didn't really change much at all here in Canada. I have tried to sell it here locally, but no one around seems to know the value of these older Tokais, and they expect to get it for the price of a Korean model. Alan, if/when you come over here, send me an email...

I think you are missing my point though. It doesn't matter what decade they were building the guitars in. If they were seriously trying to make an exact replica of a 59 Les Paul, a 59 Les Paul came with covers on the pups; as did all Les Pauls of that era. I understand the attraction for some...

What I don't understand is if Tokai were so caught up in making exact replicas of the older Les Pauls, then why did they not at least include pickup covers and leave it up to the buyer if they wanted to remove them?

Hmmm, I guess I'll just have to order them and hope that they fit through the holes. I don't mind changing things on the guitar (i.e. pups, electronics, etc.) that can be swapped back to original, but I really do not want to change things (i.e. make holes bigger) that are irreversible changes...

Unfortunately those guys are total crooks. After waiting many months for my parts from them, I eventually had to go to the Canadian Better Business Bureau to final resolve my issues with them. They still never got me my parts, but did finally refund my money. Besides, they have no stock at all...
