Japan made Tokai UES dating question.

Thanks Luis, thats an interesting piece of information. This one has beautiful flame and a really nice fingerboard, plays very fast and very light and resonant. I played it live at a jam and was really impressed the way it made a rather dud amp sound good. Then, when I gave it back to the owner...

I have an '84 on loan with only the bridge pickup in it, as an "Esquire" and it sounds very good.

Japan made Tokai UES dating question.

Thanks Luis! I had a feeling it was 2005 but not sure. Yes, it seems like lacquer finish, very thin and has that smell to it. I just bought this guitar after two years of wanting it and its an incredible sounding guitar and sustains like no other I've owned.

How common are Tokai double cut Juniors?

I agree. I find I need the neck pickup more in lower volume situations. It's almost essential to me now. Rolling off treble on a bridge P90 doesn't get you anywhere near that tone. But still.....

How common are Tokai double cut Juniors?

This Junior my friend lent me is very nice but after playing it for two weeks I find the fingerboard a little flat. I couldn't give a **** about what the wood is, it sounds right and it plays pretty good apart from the flatness. I think thats just because I'm used to the old Fender radius now...
