Tuners...
yeah...the vintage tuners were fine really. I just like the grovers as i have had them on several guitars and they just feel right to me.
Not really sure what the deal with OBL is. Pretty sure that was Bill's company at a time but i guess no longer. I'm using http://www.billlawrence.com pickups.
I have no means of recording here at home. :( I'll see if i can get something going on soon though.
Here's the finished guitar. I...
Well i finally had some time to get it done today. The results are just incredible. Really happy with the versatility i get with the push/pull pot. I can get anything from stratish tones to tele type tones to full on balls to the wall. Here are some pics. Please forgive the quality. I really...
well i was not able to spend as much time as i wanted with the guitar yesterday. Wife had me running around most of the day. I managed to get the Grovers installed last night though! I used a tapered reamer to enlarge to holes and it worked great. You can see the top holes from the original...
Well, i find them to be great for me. Keep in mind i'm using the pickups from Bill and Becky Lawrence, not the "Bill Lawrence USA" version.
They suit me well. Lots of clarity and punch. No artificial distortion....just balls. I play with more of a hard rock edge so they work for me when palm...
Posted this on the MLP Forum and thought i should share it here as well.
Well today i will be spending some time with my Tokai LS-85Q and i'm going to upgrade a few things. First off, let me say that the stock parts i'm replacing arent bad at all. In fact i am quite impressed with the Tokai...
AHHHH!!! The Hair Metal days! I sort of remember those. I'm alot balder and wider these days... . Here's me with my Model 6. Man I loved that guitar. Wish i still had it.
Okay, took it to my local guitar guy and he's got her playing great! The roller bridge worked nice but i wanted the original bridge on there so he worked it out. He also reworked the nut a bit and it now plays better than i could have imagined. As far as price.....i paid a little too much i...
I really dont have a problem with it so far. But i understand what you mean. I've had a couple of gits that had a really "grabby" neck. This one seems to be quite playable for me. HOWEVER...I am having a heck of a time trying to get the intonation set with the stock bridge. I had the saddle on...
Thanks! I have not had time to really sit down with her yet but so far i am really impressed with the quality. I have owned several Gibsons over the years as well as a couple of nice Greco Lp's. This is easily up there at the top. Neck is perfect for me. It's right between 50's rounded and a...
This arrived at my house yesterday. '03 LS-85Q Oak. It's like new with plastic still on the pickups and on the cavity covers as well. It's a dream to play. I had seen these around for a while and i had to have this color! Really impressed overall.
