Is this a 1984 Goldstar Sound?

I'd go with Peter Mac- This is not 1984 Goldstar. I I was thinking late 80's or early nineties - the tip off got me is the Neck But and control cavity markings have a Hyphen instead of a equals sign ( 4-13 and 4-13OW ) older goldstars have ( 4=13 and 4=13OW ) The single coil routes are not...

    LS-50 inked serial

Look in the neck pickup cavity- if there is a hole on each side of the neck where it glues into the body it's a Greco made Tokai from the early eighties

    Any truth in this story?

I always thought that Greco was picked over Tokai because of Greco/Ibanez's impressive production numbers- Early Tokai Stratocasters/Les Pauls are clearly closer to the real USA Fender/Gibsons that I have seen.. In 1978-thru 1980 Greco/Ibanez had already put out 10's of thousands of LP's and...

    1980 LS-200 - Yahoo JP

I have done a side by side comparison with a early eighties LS120's and a 59 les paul and the Tokai with the Dimarzio PAF's sounded better-PERIOD-I have a modest set up(mesa boogie 50 Cal) I actually disassembled the Gibson and the Tokai side by side just for giggles-the gibson cost me $125K the...
