ls165s pickup replacement with 'noiseless' - advice needed

I got the Humbucker sized P90s custom wound for the sound I wanted, I just told him the range of the sorts of things I wanted to play and he wound them to suit, so I'm not sure what the magnets are etc. They are fitted in my LS 85 which has std humbucker routing. If you're wanting hum buckers to...

    How good are Tokai Pickups?

Like I said, I've nothing against them, they sound fine to me. I've fitted my LoveRock LS90Q with some custom wound humbucker sized P90s which are really good. The previous owner had swapped the original Mk2s for some cheap but hotter pickups, so I never knew what the Mk2s sounded like in an LP...

    How good are Tokai Pickups?

I have a 2010 Tokai ES135, which I believe came with Mk2 PAF pickups. Whilst I'm not unhappy with them, by any means, I'm wondering what they are based on and whether there may be anything else that might improve this already great guitar. I play mostly blues and classic 70s rock. Any thoughts...

    Laff ably inner curate.

As it is in Sunderland, if you read it with a geordie accent it makes a bit more sense!

    Gold top

I actually bought my LS90Q with the intention of fitting humbucker size P90s in it. As it turned out it didn't have the original pickups in it anyway. The P90s I fitted sound superb, no regrets at all. It seems most of the Tokais that come with P90s are goldtops, though my guitar tutor has a...

    TOHAI TOKAI !!!

It was just what a local Tokai dealer told me, they only deal in the Jspanese ones. So I'm not sure if it was true, I don't know whether the Chinese ones we get in the UK are "real" Tokais or not.

    TOHAI TOKAI !!!

That's what I thought too. There are even some ones distributed by the same guy under the Gibbo brand, which I'm lead to believe are the ones that failed QC checks and sell for under ?200 in the UK!

    TOHAI TOKAI !!!

As far as I'm aware the UK Tokai distributor has done a deal with Tokai japan to allow him to source guitars from China and sell them under the Tokai name. There are a large number of them available over here and they are not bad quality, nowhere near the Japanese ones, but well in Epi...
