    Fakai or Tokai

I spotted this breezy sound on ebay - the headstock looks slightly different to ones on the registry in that the position of the decal is different. Any thoughts...

    Tokai Jazz Bass L150

Hi everybody Just wanted to ask - I've come across a Tokai Jazz Bass serial is L150xxx on the back - I believe this puts it at late 80s or so Simple question, how does this stand up (in real terms of playability and sound) to the early 80s models? Is it worth a look and comparable to an...

    Tokai super edition

i just bought a tokai super edition of ebay. It is absolutely mint condition, but quite surprising to play. I already have a 1984 copy of a 1962 model (with the truss rod accessible from the body end of the neck etc..) the super edition sounds quite tinny, with a lot of resonation from the...

Be careful if you need to adjust the truss rod - if it's like mine you'll need to take the neck off first. Make sure you don't...

    Aging of the bridge saddle

Sorry !!! The problem is now solved- I discovered the problem is not that the saddle is bent, but that the previous owner had screwed down the bridge too tight into the wood. I loosened it up and the problem was fixed instantly. Now it plays perfectly. Sorry for being a bit dense. The...

    Aging of the bridge saddle

Hi I just bought a slightly controversial tokai off eBay that was being sold by a guy who has done a big cosmetic fix on it. It's controversial because the guy selling it didn't tell anybody in this forum that he was going to, and I gather they helped him a lot with the fix up. Anyway I am a...
