    1979 Springy ST80

Dont see too many of those rosewood boards around. My st80 is from the same year but has worked hard since the day I bought it brand new in 1980. Love that guitar!

    1980 Tokai ST-80

Your luthier will be able to check what is on it and replace with the correct wire. I recently had the bottom 12 frets done on my 1980 st80 by a local guy and it worked out really well. And re those pickups, have the refret done (if it needs it) before you switch pickups. The amount of fret...

    Double cut Telecaster?

Got mixed up with a SG alike somehow - sorry about that! Anyway I looked all over the classifieds and didnt see a HP for sale - anyone have one they wish to move on? O.K. I give up! Apparently I have angered the Gods of the Registry! (grin) Really not my day. I just discovered at 10pm...

    Goldstar Body Restoration

Superb work! And just for fun, a nice story. Back in the early sixties I got up and jammed with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes at a gig, just after Ringo left them to join the Beatles. I borrowed their guitar player`s strat. Yours is an absolute dead ringer for his apart from the F word on the...

    '78 ST100

Always a bit of a *gulp* moment working on an old, pretty guitar, eh? I put off having the first 12 frets replaced on my ST80 for a very very long time. It sat in its case un-played for a COUPLE OF YEARS(!). Even put it up for sale on here and then got convinced by a pal in Nigeria of all...

Trying to date, ST 80 Springy, E Pups might be lawsuit vntg

Just got back to this thread. Mine does indeed have a single color scratch plate and A on the underside of it. No fretboard number stamp & I forgot to look at the truss rod adjuster when I was gigging it last night! d`Oh....

Trying to date, ST 80 Springy, E Pups might be lawsuit vntg

Did the early Springys (pre 1980) have WBW scratchplates? My `80 has a plain white plate. Either way, the early 80`s are a delight. Love mine.

    1979 ST-60 Springy - Jimi!!!

Only just noticed this thread. I own a 1980 springy with a v neck rosewood board. Bought it new in 1980, pick of the litter out of six we got in the shop where I worked at the time. All six were white nitro finish, vee neck rosewood board springys. ST80s. ?80 inc HSC at the time! So don`t give...

    V Neck Comparison

1940`s 00021 - belongs to a friend in Nashville. Best Martin I ever played and it too had a really triangular Vee neck. I bought MY 000 on the strength of that one guitar. When I bought my 1980 ST80 in the shop where I worked, we got 6 ST80s and 2 Hard Punchers in on the same day, our first...

    V Neck Comparison

Hi, mate - mine is somewhere around the second from the left or the last one on the right. Hopefully that will help. FWIW Fender didn`t make a vee neck strat with a rosewood board in that crucial period, which is why I ended up buying my ST80. And I immediately lost interest in Fenders...
