Can anyone fill me in with a bit of background? Was there ever a JSR series guitar with a humbucker and one single coil or hotrail type pickup, rather than a humbucker and two single coils? Or was there something with the same shape head/body with this configuration I could ber getting confused...

Got the bass home last night, reset the nut, and had a bit of a play. It had been tuned way high and after I retuned it it kept changing - I'll do it again tonight and see if it settles. In this situation do the assembled masses think it might be beneficial to replace the strings? I took a few...

I just picked up a JSB from a pawnbrokers at what I think is a very good price. It's all there and plays fine, though it's got plenty of dings in the body. The only thing that concerns me is that the nut is not central - it has shifted a couple of mm towards the E string. Still seems to play OK...
