I thought that.. the current one is a bit rough particularly around the control plate and just up from there. I did wonder if originally the bass had no scratchplate, as I'm sure I've seen pics of such from Tokai. I know the pots are Japanese as I looked inside with a view to possible switching...

Hi all, I've lurked on here for a while, but posting to see if there's any info on my Jazz Sound. CAR with matching headstock. I bought it 6 years ago via Ebay, and it's got MADE IN JAPAN under the lacquer by the neck heel. Can't find a serial number anywhere, even under any bits! Plain neck...
