I agree they are great guitars, but they the spec's are off, just look at the routing channels and pickup cavities on the Tokai - they are nothing like the Historic's or any late 50's Les Paul. I agree they are great playing and sounding guitars. I love them! Kevin

While I think they are as good or possibly even better that most of the offerings from Gibson. The routings, neck tenon, frets, headstock veneer are all not up to Historic spec's, I'm sure there is more if I were to compare side by side. But I would say Tokai's are great guitars, very well made!

Sorry to strike a nerve.... Granted laminate or veneer is real wood and generally looks very nice, but I'd much rather have the guitar built as close to the orig spec's as possible. I'm not knocking the LS-75-85-95's I just can't understand why anyone would pay $1300+ for one

It was pulled from a 1980 if I remember correctly. The lead is short, this pickup was in the brige position of a Gibson SG for the last few years with an extention added to the lead, I removed the extention when I pulled it out of the SG. Thanks kevin
