    Blackstar info please

I agree their marketing line is pretty dubious. Probably because I'm a jaded cynic, I tend to expect marketing blurb to steer wide of the mark where truth is concerned, so I tend to discount the advertising and listen to the opinions of my ears. I look forward to finding a better bedroom amp...

    Blackstar info please

As far as I'm aware, it's a valve amp with a solid state preamp stage, the same principle as running a tubescreamer (which has no tubes in it) into a valve amp. Anyway, semantics aside, I've got a HT-5 combo, and I think it's great. It's an older model, made before the availability of reverb...

I have no wish to involve myself in forum politics, I just want to put it on record that I will miss Mike's genial and knowledgeable posts and I feel he's a great loss.

    Knob help!

I got some from Axesrus and while they're not *exactly* the same as the Tokais, they certainly look the part. Thanks for all the replies.

Ah, it's as simple as that is it? Thank you kindly. Well done to Alan for his willpower! :)

    Knob help!

I'm sick of looking at the spotty bell knobs on my Tokai SG75. :D I had always vaguely planned getting some Gibson ones and putting them on, but a conversation elsewhere has suggested Gibson ones won't fit the Japanese shafts. Can anyone suggest a source of supply?

Pat McManus Band, Ruislip (NW London), Sun, 09-May-2010

I went along to see Mama's Boys several times during the eighties in Ireland. They were three brothers, hence the band name. My mates' band supported them a few times. Pat played fiddle very well indeed, not the bassist. I considered him a superb guitarist, so he must be even better now...

Video demo of my LS95 Sunburst Flametop

Lovely playing and well put together video. Bravo. Much impressed with the tone, that crunchbox seems to make the whole outfit sing.

    Tokai Sg - tuning stability?

My SG75 is rock solid tuning-wise. A suede back leather strap deals with the neck diving trouble completely for me. Every SG type guitar I've tried has been neck heavy. It's a pleasure to play, as being so light it's very easy on my creaky back.

    LS380 from China!

I see it's been withdrawn. I wonder what sort of guitar (if any) would have been shipped. :-?

    LS380 from China!

Thanks mate, I knew about the China thing - but that tip about crossing the road is bound to come in useful! :P I just wanted to highlight an auction to beware of.
