Maybe it's the same guitar? It sure looks like a Tokai with the build features, but is it really a Tokai if it says Hagstrom on the headstock?

I like to screw the tail piece down all the way and run string the traditional way (not top wrapped). This gives the feel I prefer.

Yes, the stinger on the back is suspicious for a repair, but I look closely and the wood grain looks continuous. If it is a new headstock grafted on, it was done without much evidence.

Let's see the original auction before we decide. Not all sellers are professional guitar dealers. Every ebay purchase is a risk. Some people honestly don't know or don't care about such details that may affect your ability to resell a guitar.

Seller didn't respond to messages. One bid was cancelled because of it. He didn't reply to me either. I think this prevented many people from bidding.

The real dividing line is below the LS-80 model. Below that point some less desirable features are present, which makes the LS-50 and LS-60 more affordable. Headstock angle is shallower, no fret binding, more pieces of wood for top and back, and sunburst and finish are somewhat "less convincing"...
