    Unambiguos Guitar Provenance Terminology

I am starting a new thread for this discussion so as not to hijack another post. I'll try to reproduce the relevant items so far: I originally asserted: Dave_Mc agreed: mirrorboy mostly agreed, but clarified: I agree the issue is authenticity and, in fact, I would probably go so far as...

    Springy Sound, How fake?

I am going to start another discussion thread on authenticity rather than further hijack this post. See here http://www.tokaiforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20531

    Springy Sound, How fake?

Apologies in advance, but I am on a [part-time] mission for precise guitar provenance terminology. I think this is the only way we can all discuss these things with clarity and civility. I think it's important to distinguish between originals, reproductions, and counterfeits. Another valid...

    WTB: Early 80's Tokai Breezysound

You can try to talk to this guy, but you'll need to figure out shipping from Canada I guess: http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-musical-instruments-guitars-Early-80s-Tokai-Breezysound-Telecaster-W0QQAdIdZ446250626 I am not associated with seller, never talked to him, just been watching...

Yet another Tokai "help me identify my new guitar!' thr

Not that you can trust the serial number, but this one is 05xxxx which might suggest 2005. If that's the case, that was very much at the end of the "Make in Korea" run, not the start, so I am not sure that theory fits well. Yes, it's crazy to discuss provenance of fakes ...

Yet another Tokai "help me identify my new guitar!' thr

If it's a fake Tokai, it's not the infamous "Canadian Fakai" that we normally discuss i.e. the one with "Make in Korea" [sic] on the back of the headstock. Also, the headstock has the typical UK version nib in the bookmark, which none of the Canadian Fakai have. It might be another fake...

    Buying 80's MIJ Breezysound - Advise/Help

This tele's been for sale for a long long time (at least half a year, possibly longer), the seller is not getting $850 for it, but he hasn't quite publically accepted that yet. That provides negotiation leverage, but some people don't take a negotiation well. I've been watching it all this...

    Vintage Fender SLAVE (?) Amp

http://kitchener.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-musical-instruments-amps-pedals-Vintage-Fender-slave-amp-W0QQAdIdZ330174088 I think someone is highly confused by their gear: - "Slave" amp that "that runs through a patch cord hooked up to any other amplifier"? That sure sounds like a speaker cab ...

    WTB...Orville, Greco or Tokai...IN CANADA...

You weren't specific on what style or mfg country you're looking for, but if I may make an educated guess ... right now, there only appears to be one Love Rock MIJ on Kijiji in Burlington...

    i need some help

I am not personally very familiar with these songs, but my mystical Google powers tell me that: - "waiting for an alibi" is in C#m in standard tuning - "black rose" is in Gb (but played as G in 1/2 step down tuning) - "boys are back in town" is in Ab (but played as A in 1/2 step down tuning)

NGD 2002 MIJ GT (was MY) Love Rock case and pots question

Above photo is the closest to the actual colour of my guitar of all the photos, including most of my photos. Still, it's actually greener than even that. Anyways ... I feel like a psych patient that is forced to admit it was all an illusion under duress when I say "Yes, you must be right...
