1992 Tokai LP Junior DC - problem!

The dogear is directly attached to the body with two screws. So there is no possibility to lower the pickup cover. The only way to get more space between pu and strings I can think of is to set the warparound stoptail higher, but that will effect playability in a bad way. :( I'm glad all...

1992 Tokai LP Junior DC - problem!

Thanks for your reply and the link. So I'm not the only one with that problem. I will try to make some pictures of the Tokai Jr, don't know how to post them on the forum, but I will try to figure that out.

1992 Tokai LP Junior DC - problem!

Last week I bought a 1992 Tokai LP Junior DC, action was a little bit too high so I adjusted the guitar to my personal taste. Playability is just real fine at the moment, and the guitar sustains very well. There is just one issue, the dogear pu sits too close to the strings now, approximately...

70's Burny LP Junior trussrod cover?

Good for you! So I guess those early 80's Burny Juniors are killer guitars too. Sometimes you have to be lucky to get an extraordinary good example, just like you did. I hope to find one myself in the near future. How is the neckshape of your guitar, thin/medium? Can you post a picture of your...

How is the quality of those 80's Burny LP Juniors, comparable with the 70's Burny's?

70's Burny LP Junior trussrod cover?

Nice pictures! The Junior looks really great.. I like the sound of P90's. I also have two old Yamaki guitars, a LP Standard and a LP Custom from the 70's, those guitars are really superb guitars and play and sound killer! Those old Japanese guitars are high quality stuff! You have...

70's Burny LP Junior trussrod cover?

Hi guys, I'm wondering what kind of trussrod cover was on a 70's Burny LP Junior. Did it have a 2 or a 3 screw trussrod cover? There is one on eBay that I like but I want to be really sure if it is a real 70's Junior and are they comparable with the real deal...

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

There are definitely no screws to adjust the pole pieces. They read approximately 8.1 kOhm. I think I will let them pass. I think this is the Dimarzio PAF that I have to get for the Tokai? This one is for sale, reads 7.75 kOhm. One white wire and one black covered with a meshed ground wire. I...

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

As far as I can see there are no screws to adjust the pole pieces. So then these are not the right ones, I guess?

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

I took some inquiries and this is what the seller told me: 'Sorry I don't have an ohm meter to test the resistance. Yes they are the PAF not the Super distortion although they sound like the distortion 2's. They are very warm and hard to get a clean sound out of without it breaking up. I used...

    Tokai ES 150R

I've managed to find a way to post a picture, so here is my early 1981 blonde ES150R with fantastic birdseye maple top and back.

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

It is a matched set of Vintage Dimarzio Pickups from the late 70's or Early 80's. They have been in a 1981 Yamaha SA1200s since 1983. The base plate has stamped on it: DIMARZIO PICKUPS MADE IN USA Could these be the ones?

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

Are these the Di Marzio PAFs used in my guitar? These have black bobbins as you can see and are late 70's/early 80's. [/img]

    Original pu's for 1981 ES150R?

Thanks for all the info. So I guess the original Di Marzio PAFs on my ES150R did have nickel plated covers, because all hardware is nickel on my guitar. If anyone has a spare set of original Di Marzio PAFs for my 1981 ES150R, you know who's lookin' for them.. I have a set of original Tokai '57...
