I have a 2007 MIJ Loverock LS85, in cherry burst. It has the Gotoh P90 pickups, in excellent condition. I live in north central Pa.

It is an LS 85S-CS ( Cherry Sunburst)

Another good match is the Fender Blues Junior, 15 tubes watts, through a 12" speaker. I had mine modded by Bill M. It really opens the sound up, also gives it more of a black face vintage sound. Bill is highly respected over at the Fender Forum.

It is hard to beat the Fender Deluxe Reverb for thick, clean sound. I play both Gibsons & an LS 85 P90 through mine. The sound is great for blues and rock, and can be fine tuned with a good pedal, like the Voodoo labs sparkle drive.

Wow, can't wait to try them out. I am looking for pretty much, the tone you descibe. My other two guitars are Gibsons, one with 57 classics, and the other with 490s. The P90s are going to used on some select ZZ Top songs, and a few blues songs, that were done on Strats. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. The only P90s I have played were on a Gibson 137. I will definately give a good listen before doing anything.

Hi All, I have a 2007 Tokai LS 85 on the way, with P90s. I believe Tokai may be using Gotoh as the maufactuer of the pickups. Can anyone compare these, sound wise, to the Gibson p90s? These are the Soapbar version, as opposed to the dogear version. Thanks much.
