    Greco pickup identification?

Thanks for the advice, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Here's a picture of the volume pot for the bridge pickup: The serial on the pot is 304072. I read somewhere that the first number indicates the value of the pot, which would mean this is a 300K pot? Other than that I...

    Greco pickup identification?

Thanks for the info, I appreciate your effort. I need to look into taking pics of the pots and solder joints. I?ve never owned a semiacoustic before so the process of getting a pot out is beyond me at this point. Perhaps it isn?t as hard as it seems once you put your mind to it :D Anyhow...

    Greco pickup identification?

Hi guys! I?ve got a little pickup problem for you/us all to try and solve. The pickups are from a Greco Super Real SA-900 (ES-335 copy) and the serial on the headstock implies that the guitar was made in 1980. According to the catalogue from that year, the guitar should come equipped with PU-2...

'85 Tokai LS60, or perhaps something else?

Barks: Mine's definitely made of 2 pieces, they join at the strap pin. The truss rod cover is the "sharper" bell on mine, I saw similar covers when browsing the 1985 Tokai catalogue, I guess it's original. Strange how these guitars and model numbers and specs can be so fascinating :)

'85 Tokai LS60, or perhaps something else?

Thanks for your comments! Barks, I read your thread, very interesting. The Love Rocks from 1985 seem to be somewhat problematic, as the specs tend to vary (?). At least that?s how I?ve interpreted it. The guitar was horribly adjusted when I got it with all too much relief in the neck...

'85 Tokai LS60, or perhaps something else?

The other day I bought what seems to be an LS-60 from 1985. The specs are as follows: - Serial number 50XXXXX - Body is made of 2 pieces - Flamed maple top, subtle from some angles but livelier from other angles, probably veneer but I?m not 100% sure - Cherry Sunburst I guess, ?CS? written in...

    Quick question on Tokai wiring

A quick question and hopefully a quick answer! :) Could someone tell me where to solder the leads from my stock 3-way switch on my LS-75? Just plain and simple "red goes to, green to...etc etc". Thanks in advance!

    Identifying a Greco LP copy

Well I got an answer from the seller. - No FEB - Seller says nitro, but who knows - No info regarding veneer top or not - 2 piece back - Pickups neck 7.19k / bridge 7.59k. No info on manufacturer He'll send me some pictures later today. Funny thing is, I mentioned that the guitar would appear...

    Identifying a Greco LP copy

EDIT: I e-mailed the seller for some more details on the Greco. If he?s unable to provide me with them, I?ll just pass on this one. I?ve also got my eyes on another one. It?s the same guitar that is in this thread, a Burny FLG-60 (the same as a Tokai LS-60 Reborn?), the second one from the left...

    Identifying a Greco LP copy

Sorry guys, my bad. I could've saved you the trouble when I posted my original message. So, as you already figured out, the "O" is closed. "Japanstrat" over at the japanaxe forum wrote: So where does that lead us? :) It could be an '85 Rock Spirit or a '95 Mint Collection? Based on the overall...

    Identifying a Greco LP copy

Yes, those seem to have been swapped. The weight was what caught me too, I consider 7.7 pounds really light for an LP-style guitar. Anyhow, would anyone like to have a go at guessing the model? I haven't got a clue myself so I'm reaching out to you.

    Identifying a Greco LP copy

Hello everyone, Lately I've found an interest in Japanese LP-style guitars and I stumbled across this one. The seller claims it's a 1985 model, beautiful flame top as can be seen in the picture. The serial number is L50193 and it weighs approximately 3,5 kilograms (7.7 lb). It comes with...

Help a newbie identify a Love Rock: MIJ or MIK

Don't mind at all! I paid 400 ? for the guitar, about $ 600. After selling the case and the extra pickups for 80 ? ($ 120), I've spent 320 ? ($480) on the guitar itself. I consider this a fair price on a market where second hand MIJ Love Rocks go for $ 900-1100. Someone might say that the...
