I misspoke, don't let that distract. I'm not looking at any specific instrument right now. My question is this: did any JP model come with a factory coated fingerboard? All of them, some of them? If so, which ones?

Did JP basses leave the Tokai factory with epoxy-coated fingerboards (or something approximating that)? The JPs I've seen online look like bare wood fingerboards, with gaps, the grain clearly visible, and no reflections. Don't find a mention of coating in any descriptions. If the factory did...
