    Just thinkin' out loud ...

I guess the lack of comments answers my question. OK, I'll go ahead and sell it here in Japan. Just as a matter of interest, the guitar is a sunburst, block neck ES130 purchased earlier this year. It has been completely rewired with shielded cable throughout. It has Duncan Antiquity pickups...

    Just thinkin' out loud ...

I am toying with the idea of selling one of my ES130's. I thought about posting it on the classified page here, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the problems of money and shipping with an overseas buyer. What do you guys think, should I post it in the classifieds, or try to sell it here in...

    A Greco GAS-130 arrived today!

Thanks for taking the bullet for us! While I haven't actually bought one of those guitars yet, I certainly intend to. I played one in a store here and was very impressed with the sound. The neck is not my favorite shape, but after playing it for about 30 minutes, I didn't find it uncomfortable...

newb with questions for Japan members

I think the store I was thinking of is Kurosawa. It's quite close to Ochanomizu station. If you come out of the station and head down the hill, it's the first small street on the left side. The last time I was there they had 6 or 8 Tokai Les Pauls. Bill

    Edwards - question

Keeping in mind that Japanese descriptions can be rather odd and hard to translate, here's more or less what it says. "Based on the E-LP-85CD, a rare ?burl? maple top is added to the top material. In addition, on the head, neck and body, abalone binding is added inside the regular binding...

    Edwards - question

I don't seem to see the section you're talking about. Can you be more specific? Bill

Anyone converted the Tokai PAF's to 4 conductor ?

I have 6 Tokai pickups in my closet collecting dust now. Maybe I should take a few of them apart and see what I can come up with! It might be good experience. Bill

    New Grecos

Yes, I'd say it's better than (not as shallow as) my '95 335, which is pretty thin. I played the Greco in the store for about 30 minutes, and it never really bothered me, but it was noticeably different from my Tokai's. I think I could live with it, especially considering how good it sounded...

Import duty on guitar from Japan question

Don't mean to contradict you, but I'm pretty sure a reentry permit is required even if you have permanent residency, as I also do. As I understand it, if you leave the country without a reentry permit, you automatically forfeit your visa. Incidentally, if you have been paying nenkin here, you...

An idea for Love Rock owners (borrowed from the LPF)

Locking the two thumbwheels together to prevent them from turning when the bridge is off is one reason for having two, but the original idea is that the extra wheel is tightened down against the body to prevent the studs from leaning toward the neck, which happens over time since they are just...

Buying a goldtop from Kens Guitars Japan?

I don't about the goldtop Tokai, but Kens is a very well known store here in Tokyo, and I'm sure you would not have any problems buying from them. Bill
