Actually mine has high output, it just sounds harsh to my ears. With the tone rolled down it's better, but still not what I expect to hear from a P90.

Yeah, it's a 61 or 62 Junior (SG shape). Pickup is loud and thick. I'm going to play around with the pole pieces later on today; otherwise I may just pick up a Lindy Fralin P90 for the bridge and try that out.

Actually I had borrowed a friend's 60's SG with P-90s in it, so I'm familiar with the sound through my amp. I have a couple of different amps that I played the 60's SG thru and it sounded thick and full; the Tokai thru the same amps with the same settings sounds brittle and shrill - more so...

My Tokai SG USGP90 arrived from England yesterday. Great quality (Made In Japan), plays great, looks killer (white body, 2 P90s; like a 60's Gibson Les Paul Special). Sounds... well.... one issue I have is the bridge pickup sounds very brittle to me. I would expect it to have more midrange...

I emailed them and asked about the neck; here's the reply: " Yes this is boit-on but it is often in 70's japanase guitars "

Just for the heck of it, I decided to email Gibson to ask if they were planning on selling these models in the U.S.. The reply: "Thanks for the email. There are no current plans to introduce that model in the USA, but I will pass your request onto my superiors. Thanks Jon Sutherland...

Believe it or not, I actually scored a white one! I was up late last night scouring the internet, and I found a dealer in the U.K. that had one on their website. I emailed them, and had a response this morning that they still had it. Just pulled the trigger, and it shall be mine...

Yeah, I've bought from Japan before for stuff I've wanted. It's just odd that Gibson (and Fender) offer more (and in my opinion cooler) colors and models than they do in the U.S.. I can understand having to get "copy" guitars overseas, as they don't want them to compete with their models on...

Yep - a white SG Jr. would be what I'm searching for, though a TV Yellow would be nice, too. I wonder what the yellow in those photos looks like in person? Looks a bit more lemon than TV.....
