    Hummingbird Electric For Sale

Selling a Hummingbird electric guitar with "Tokai" on the headstock, like new condition, $450 shipped in the lower 48 states in the U.S.. Had this guitar listed several times on eBay, but Tokai had it pulled each time because they said "These guitars were not manufactured by Tokai, and they...

Got My USGP90 Tokai SG --- P90 Pickup Question

Actually mine has high output, it just sounds harsh to my ears. With the tone rolled down it's better, but still not what I expect to hear from a P90.

Got My USGP90 Tokai SG --- P90 Pickup Question

Yeah, it's a 61 or 62 Junior (SG shape). Pickup is loud and thick. I'm going to play around with the pole pieces later on today; otherwise I may just pick up a Lindy Fralin P90 for the bridge and try that out.

Got My USGP90 Tokai SG --- P90 Pickup Question

Actually I had borrowed a friend's 60's SG with P-90s in it, so I'm familiar with the sound through my amp. I have a couple of different amps that I played the 60's SG thru and it sounded thick and full; the Tokai thru the same amps with the same settings sounds brittle and shrill - more so...

Got My USGP90 Tokai SG --- P90 Pickup Question

My Tokai SG USGP90 arrived from England yesterday. Great quality (Made In Japan), plays great, looks killer (white body, 2 P90s; like a 60's Gibson Les Paul Special). Sounds... well.... one issue I have is the bridge pickup sounds very brittle to me. I would expect it to have more midrange...

Why aren't we getting the cool guitars in the U.S.???

Just for the heck of it, I decided to email Gibson to ask if they were planning on selling these models in the U.S.. The reply: "Thanks for the email. There are no current plans to introduce that model in the USA, but I will pass your request onto my superiors. Thanks Jon Sutherland...

Why aren't we getting the cool guitars in the U.S.???

The yellow is called "Corona Yellow" from what I can find. The blue is "Caribbean Blue", the red/coral is "Coral Pink". Here are more photos from another dealer in Japan: http://www.mikigakki.com/category/details.php?item_id=4995930118184 They have some colorful basses, too!

Burny LP JR With Bolt On Neck?

During my recent guitar search, I came across this well played Burny: http://www.j-guitar.com/sp/sea/view_detail.cgi?pid=12430108 Odd thing is it has a bolt on neck, which I haven't come across on a Junior. Anyone know when these were made? Were they lower quality models overall than the set...

Looking For Tokai USGP90 in U.S.

Believe it or not, I actually scored a white one! I was up late last night scouring the internet, and I found a dealer in the U.K. that had one on their website. I emailed them, and had a response this morning that they still had it. Just pulled the trigger, and it shall be mine...

Why aren't we getting the cool guitars in the U.S.???

Yeah, I've bought from Japan before for stuff I've wanted. It's just odd that Gibson (and Fender) offer more (and in my opinion cooler) colors and models than they do in the U.S.. I can understand having to get "copy" guitars overseas, as they don't want them to compete with their models on...

Why aren't we getting the cool guitars in the U.S.???

Yep - a white SG Jr. would be what I'm searching for, though a TV Yellow would be nice, too. I wonder what the yellow in those photos looks like in person? Looks a bit more lemon than TV.....
