Hello friends, Last time i tried to identify this Tokai I was told i needed to upload more images, so here they are. Consesus was (last time) that this was a 90's Goldstar st50. Is that so? For your info neck is marked with Made in Japan (not a sticker, written on the wood in ink) and inside it...

FYI the '86 catalogue, for one, shows several TST models with maple necks and 11 screw-3ply scratch plates.

Sorry Peter, Gabe Is there a book on Tokai's I can buy somewhere? For example what Peter said about markings and logos post '87? information like that. where can I find it? I seem to have caught the Tokai bug...

Thank you I am puzzled, however. looking at the catalogues on the registry, post '87, all the strat copies shown have the '60s pick guard (more than 8 screws) whereas mine has the single ply 8 screw one. The only model that seems similar is the 86-87 TST50. But in the catalogues that one has the...

Apologies, looking more closely, the AST56 had this type of pick guard. Color is correct, so could this be an AST56? I Know i said maybe C neck but i am a beginner, it's a lovely thick neck, that fills your hand and feels great.

Pick guard, please note this has 8 screws an is a single piece of white plastic. The AST models in the 85 catalogue have 11 screws? so again I am confused.
